Rob Thomas goes back to the ’80s with new track “Timeless”

Emblem/Atlantic If you're a fan of Rob Thomas, you know that he loves '80s music. Now, he's taken a handful of hits from that decade and turned them into the lyrics of his latest release.

"Timeless" is a new track from Rob's upcoming album Chip Tooth Smile. In the first verse, he sings, "I get lost in an '80s song" and then proceeds to do just that.

The song's lyrics quote Cyndi Lauper's "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," Sinead O'Connor's "Nothing Compares to You," "New Sensation" by INXS, "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" by Eurythmics, George Michael's "Father Figure," Human League's "Don't You Want Me," Night Ranger's "Sister Christian," Tom Petty's "Free Fallin" and Phil Collins' "In the Air Tonight," among other tunes.

"Timeless" is the third track to be released from Chip Tooth Smile, following the single "One Less Day (Dying Young)," and "I Love It".

The day Chip Tooth Smile comes out, Rob will perform "One Less Day (Dying Young)" on ABC's Good Morning America. He kicks off a summer tour May 28 in Red Bank, NJ, and each ticket purchased online comes with a digital download of the new album.
