2018 will find Celine Dion venturing away from her Las Vegas home to visit a part of the world she hasn’t been to in a long time.
“I’m very excited to let you know that we’re touring the Asia/Pacific region this coming June, July and August,” said the diva in a video message to fans. “We’re playing some countries for the very first time ever in my whole career, as well as returning to some places that we’ve loved and been before in the past.”
“I can’t wait to be there with you. Can’t wait to sing for you. Can’t wait to see you again,” she added.
Specifically, Celine will perform in Tokyo and Macao for the first time in 10 years, and will also stage concerts in Singapore, Jakarta, Taipei, Manila and Bangkok. The tour kicks off June 16 in Tokyo, and is scheduled through a July 23 in Bangkok. But since Celine mentioned August, she may end up adding more dates, which would stretch the tour into that month.
Celine is currently performing her show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. Her current batch of dates runs through January 20, and then she starts up again on March 27.
In between, Celine may very well make an appearance at the Academy Awards. The song she sang for the live-action movie version of Beauty and the Beast, “Evermore,” is eligible for a Best Original Song Oscar nomination.
